● np. f. tm. ►CORP Société créée en 1986 par la fusion de Burroughs et de Sperry. Elle comptait 34000 employés en 1996, pour un CA de 6 milliards de dollars. L'essentiel de ce qu'il faut retenir de cette société, hormis ses antécédents dans les grand systèmes, est qu'elle détient un brevet sur l'algorithme de compression LZW et exige le paiement de royautés par tous ceux qui voudraient utiliser le format GIF (qui utilise cet algo).
