● /lisp/ n. m. sg. ►LANG Abrév. de LISt Processing ou de "Lots of Insipid and Silly Parenthesis" (Brit.). Autres interprétations: "Les Informaticiens Sont Paresseux", "Les Imbéciles Sont Partout" (© PC Team), "Language d'Imbéciles Saturé de Parenthèses" [soufflé par Patrick Burnand]. Langage de programmation basé sur le traitement de listes et beaucoup utilisé en Intelligence Artificielle, conçu à la fin des années 1950 par J. Mac Carthy, au MIT. L'absence totale de standardisation de ce langage en a fait "une église aux multiples chapelles. On pourrait même parler de sectes..." Actuellement, l'accord a tendance à se faire sur Common LISP.
