Ces balises sont en fait des fonctionnalités courantes dans les JSP qui ont été regroupées pour faciliter le développement d'applications web. JSTL regroupe 4 bibliothèques: les fonctions de base (structures itératives, etc.), les traitements XML, les traitements SQL et l'internationalisation (définition proposée par Hugo Etiévant).
