● ►en /big-num/ ou /big-nm/ n. m. ►TYPE Contraction de "BIG NUMber". Grand nombre, c'est-à-dire qui contient pas mal de chiffres (au moins une bonne vingtaine). Habituellement, les ordinateurs sont capables de traiter des nombres grands, mais relativement petits du point de vue du nombre de leurs chiffres, traditionnellement, les valeurs maxi sont 2^31 (2147483648) ou 2^15 (32768). Il est donc nécessaire d'écrire des programmes ou des bibliothèques de fonctions particulières pour obtenir une précision aussi grande que nécessaire.
